Chandigarh: Well-known Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was shot lifeless by unidentified assailants in Punjab’s Mansa district, a day after the state authorities withdrew his safety cowl.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Mansa) Gobinder Singh instructed PTI that a number of bullets hit Moosewala, 27, who was in his jeep at village Jawahar Ke when he was attacked. Mansa civil surgeon Dr Ranjeet Rai instructed reporters that Moosewala was introduced lifeless on the civil hospital.
He had fought on the Congress ticket from Mansa meeting seat within the latest meeting election and was defeated by AAP’s Dr Vijay Singla.
Leaders of the Congress and different political leaders expressed shock and anger over the killing of Moosewala and attacked the AAP authorities for withdrawing his safety cowl. ”The homicide of Shri Sidhu Moose Wala, Congress candidate from Punjab & a proficient musician, has come as a horrible shock to the Congress celebration & your complete nation. Our deepest condolences to his household, followers & buddies.
”We stand united & undeterred, right now of utmost grief,” the Congress celebration tweeted.
Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, who performed a significant position in bringing Moosewala into the Congress fold, mentioned he was “shocked past perception and expression”. ”He was showered with bullets in Mansa simply 2 days after @BhagwantMann govt withdrew his safety. @AAPPunjab govt has misplaced ethical authority. It have to be DISMISSED (sic),? mentioned Warring in a tweet.
Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, referred to as Sidhu Moosewala, was amongst 424 folks whose safety was withdrawn by the Punjab Police on Saturday.
The others included former MLAs, two Jathedars of Takht Damdama Sahib and Takht Kesgarh Sahib, heads of Deras and serving and retired policemen.
Moosewala had joined the Congress final 12 months forward of the Punjab meeting polls.
