348 apps blocked for gathering, transmitting customers’ data: Govt

New Delhi: Amid rising complaints towards cell apps, the Centre has recognized and blocked 348 apps developed by varied nations, together with China, for allegedly gathering consumer info for profiling residents and transmitting it abroad in an unauthorised method, the Parliament was instructed on Wednesday.

“The Ministry of Dwelling Affairs (MHA) has recognized 348 cell purposes which had been gathering customers’ info and transmitting it in an unauthorised method to servers positioned outdoors the nation for profiling.
